Students are needed for appointment to Tenure Review Committees. These committees are assigned to evaluate the performance and competence of instructors who will be eligible for a permanent faculty appointment. Such an appointment gives them some security in the face of class and staff cuts with recent budget restrictions.
Each committee has one student representative, and will evaluate a faculty member and then advise the Board of Trustees on granting or not granting tenure. Evaluation includes classroom observation, anonymous student surveys, and assessment of participation in student activities.
